I was the Graduate Coordinator for the ILE program in Tanzania in May 2016. Since then, there have been many changes in my life. I am graduating with my Master's of Public Administration in one week and have a full time job as a Project Manager at a translation company in Manhattan. I plan to travel alone this summer for my 25th birthday to either Costa Rica or Key West. In the past year, I traveled to Chicago, DC, California, Las Vegas, and most recently I completed a service trip in Cuba. I shared my experience in Cuba with three other ILE alumni. While in Cuba, we all came to the realization that if we did not participate in ILE, we probably wouldn't be in a stranger's house (Air BnB) in Havana at that very moment. ILE has taught me to be a leader, to be fearless, and gave me a whole new perspective on life. I think back on my experience in Tanzania as one of the best times at Rutgers Newark, and I am eternally grateful for the lessons I learned.
