A large part of my professional development and success stems from my experience as a Graduate Coordinator for the Paul Robeson Campus Center at Rutgers University- Newark. This experience has shaped me and prepared me to become the professional I am today. Through about my 7 years, undergraduate and graduate, the best 2 years of my life came from working and developing student leaders at Rutgers. I was given an opportunity by Dean Walton to join the PRCC team in September 2014, and was placed within a diverse array of experiences, which prepared me to go out in the workforce. The ideas and concepts learned throughout my two year experience under the guidance of Jamaal Brown, Kate Torres, and Nikita Pandit, who had supervised me, taught me skills such as dedication, advisement, programing, and working which specialized student populations. The highlight of my two year experience, was when I was given the opportunity to advise students on the International Leadership Exchange trip to India. I was able to challenge and explore myself as a professional and as a person. Because of the opportunity the Paul Robeson Campus Center gave me, I was able to accept an offer at the University of Delaware as a Program Coordinator for the Student Centers. In my role, I currently advise Haven (LGBTQ) and HOLA (Hispanic and Latinx) student organizations on campus. I also program a diverse array of programs, large and small scale, where I am able to meet different famous artists and develop student leaders. This could not be possible if it were not for the experience I had at the Paul Robeson Campus Center and its dedicated staff who took their time to develop me as a professional.
